Our Curriculum Intent Statement

At Eynesbury Church of England Primary School, our curriculum has been designed to ensure each and every child can ‘live life in all its fullness’ by offering stimulating and awe inspiring learning experiences  with Christian values at  its heart. We aim to deliver a curriculum that provides our children with rich knowledge and skills. It gives them the opportunities to develop into well rounded individuals  ready for each stage in their learning journey.

'OUR PUPILS LEAVE EYNESBURY AS RESPECTFUL, GOOD CITIZENS WITH GOOD MEMORIES, A THIRST FOR LEARNING AND LIFE AND ALL IT HAS TO OFFER.'

ART AND DESIGN

We endeavour to give children the opportunity to express themselves through a variety of artistic media, such as sketching, painting, clay, textiles and printing. Our intent is that our teaching of art will provide opportunities for pupils to investigate and invent their own works of art. We aim for our art curriculum to encourage pupils to understand how art and design reflects and shapes our history, contributes to culture, creativity and wealth of our nation. High quality teaching enables pupils to develop and extend skills and give them the opportunity to express their individual interests, thoughts and ideas. Lessons are designed to engage, inspire and challenge pupils. Pupils develop their skills in evaluating and analysing creative works using language of art, craft and design. They will know great artists, craft makers and designers, and understand the historical cultural development of their art forms. Pupils also develop the skills to produce creative work, exploring their ideas and recording their experiences. They become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture and other art, craft and design techniques.
