Class equipment

The children are provided in school with all the equipment they will need for learning. Each child in Pullman class has their own equipment which they are expected to take care of.

PE kit

Children will have their PE lessons on a Tuesday and Thursday this term. Please ensure that your child is wearing their PE kit in school on the correct days so they can fully access their PE lessons.

For warmer weather PE kit should be:

White t-shirt and blue or black shorts, suitable trainers.

For colder weather PE kit should be:

White t-shirt, navy/black jogging bottoms and jumper, suitable trainers.

Whatever the weather, children need to have a named water bottle in all week to rehydrate during PE lessons and at other times.

As always, no jewellery please, except a small pair of studs for pierced ears which the children will need to be able to remove for PE lessons.  Please no nail varnish and tie hair back if below shoulder length.

Water bottles

Please send your child to school every day with a named water bottle.

Home learning

To prepare the children for secondary school, the children will be set 2 pieces of homework each week - a maths piece and a grammar piece. Homework will be set on Thursdays and should be handed in by the following Tuesday.

Children will be given a spelling list each Wednesday (this will be stuck into their planner) to practise daily throughout the week. We are encouraging the children to use strategies they have learnt previously to help them practise their sentences. They will be tested on their spellings on Wednesdays.

Children should continue to read on a daily basis, including sharing books together. The children will need to collect a signature after every read. We will check planners on a Friday because great readers make great writers!

The planners and reading books do need to be in every day because we sometimes do spot checks throughout the week to keep a close eye on reading and times tables practice.

If you have any issues/ concerns about any aspect of the homework please do contact us via email.
